Cinque Terre – Portovenere

In the foothills of the Apuan Alps, and very close to the mediterranean, the five villages of Cinque Terre offer great hiking and swimming opportunities. The villages can be hiked using the low trail (route nr 2) or the high trail (route nr 1) , and many combinations are possible. Expect steep ascents and descents on either route. A very nice trail goes from Portovenere to Riomaggiore too.
